Bioinformatics Fellow

My research focuses on adapting and applying ideas from biogeography and ecological theory to microbial systems. I have worked extensively on mapping, predicting, and understanding the biogeography of microorganisms at large geographic scales. I have also pioneered the use of environmental niche modeling in environmental microbiology — a computational approach for mapping the geographic distributions of microbes using relatively sparse samples of communities and maps of environmental data
