Chunyu Zhao, Ph.D.
Bioinformatics Scientist
I am a Bioinformatics Scientist at Chan Zuckerberg Biohub and works with Dr. Katie Pollard for microbiome projects. My research interests are bioinformatics, microbiome, microbial genomics and long reads sequencing analysis. Before I join Katie’s lab, I worked with Dr. Rick Bushman and Dr. Kyle Bittinger at PennCHOP Microbiome Program, focusing on developing bioinformatics pipelines for shotgun metagenomics sequencing and Nanopore long reads whole genome sequencing analysis. I finished my Ph.D. study with Dr. Ahmet Sacan at Drexel University, focusing on developing evolution aware protein structure alignment methods. I am also a certified Les Mill BODYCOMBAT instructor.
